Tier List Maker

Rank anything β€” games, shows, food β€” with drag-and-drop ease.

What is it?

Tier List Maker is a free, browser-based tool that lets you rank anything you can think of β€” video game characters, TV shows, movies, music, sports teams, food, or your own custom topics. You create a list of items, then drag and drop each one into a tier row (S, A, B, C, D, or any custom label you define). Each tier gets its own color so the ranking is visually clear at a glance. When you are satisfied with the ranking, export your finished tier list as a high-quality PNG image you can share anywhere. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Add items in the item pool by typing a name and pressing Enter, or paste a comma-separated list.
  2. Drag items from the pool into any tier row (S through D by default).
  3. Rename, recolor, add, or remove tiers using the edit controls on each row.
  4. Reorder items within a tier by dragging them left or right.
  5. Click "Export PNG" to download your finished tier list as an image.

Why use this tool

Tier lists have become one of the most popular formats for sharing opinions and sparking debate online. Most dedicated tier-list sites require you to create an account, use predefined template libraries, or show intrusive ads. This tool gives you a blank canvas: define your own items, your own tier labels, and your own colors without any friction. It is equally useful for a quick personal ranking and for a polished infographic to post on social media or a gaming forum. The PNG export captures the full tier list at a sharp resolution, ready to share on Twitter, Reddit, Discord or anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add images to my tier list items?

Yes β€” click the image icon on any item to upload a local image. The image will be shown as the item thumbnail in the tier list.

How many tiers and items can I have?

You can add as many tiers and items as you like. There is no hard limit, though very large tier lists may be cropped at the edges when exported β€” keep it readable.

Can I save my tier list and come back later?

Your tier list is auto-saved in your browser's localStorage so it will be there if you refresh. For permanent storage, export the PNG or copy the JSON using the Save button.

Can I share my tier list with a link?

This tool is fully client-side and does not store data on a server, so shareable links are not supported. Export the image and share that instead.

Can I import an existing tier list?

Yes β€” if you previously saved a JSON export from this tool, you can import it with the Load button to restore your tier list.
