Online Whiteboard
Draw, sketch and brainstorm — right in your browser.
What is it?
Online Whiteboard is a free, browser-based drawing canvas that lets you sketch ideas, annotate diagrams, plan projects and brainstorm without installing any software or creating an account. You get a full suite of drawing tools — freehand pen, straight lines, rectangles, ellipses, a text tool and an eraser — plus unlimited undo and redo so you can experiment freely. When you are finished, export your work as a high-resolution PNG image with one click. Everything stays on your device; nothing is uploaded to any server.
How to use it
- Select a drawing tool from the toolbar: Pen, Line, Rectangle, Ellipse, Text or Eraser.
- Choose a color from the color picker and adjust the stroke width with the size slider.
- Click and drag on the canvas to draw shapes, or click to place text.
- Use Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Redo (Ctrl+Y) to step back and forward through your changes.
- Click "Clear" to reset the canvas, or "Export PNG" to download your whiteboard as an image.
Why use this tool
Most whiteboard apps require an account, a subscription or a native install. This tool runs entirely in your browser with zero friction — open the page and start drawing immediately. It is perfect for quick wireframes, teaching diagrams, meeting notes, brainstorming sessions or any time you need a blank canvas fast. The export feature produces a clean PNG at full canvas resolution, ready to paste into documents, slide decks or emails. Because nothing leaves your device, it is also fully private.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit to how much I can draw?
No. The canvas is fixed at 1200×700 px by default but you can draw as many strokes and shapes as you like. Undo history holds up to 50 steps.
Can I import an image as a background?
This version focuses on drawing from scratch. Import support (drag-and-drop background image) is planned for a future update.
Does my drawing get saved automatically?
Your drawing is kept in memory while the tab is open. If you refresh or close the tab it will be lost, so export your work before leaving.
Can I use this on a touch screen or tablet?
Yes. The canvas responds to pointer events, so it works with styluses and fingers on tablets and touch-enabled laptops.
What file format is the export?
The canvas is exported as a PNG file with a white background. PNG is lossless, so all lines and text are crisp at any zoom level.
